Old Stone Wide Sala Planter

The Wide Sala Planter takes the same rounded shape as the rest of the Old Stone Range and stretches it into a lower, broader form. Each one is hand-shaped from high-fired earthenware, then sand-blasted after firing so the glaze comes away and what’s left looks like naturally weathered stone. No two are exactly alike, and that’s the point.

With its wide, low footprint, this planter really comes into its own wherever you want something grounded rather than tall.

A few ways our customers are using it:

• As a statement piece on a balcony or courtyard, planted up with layers for a lush, established look
• At a front entrance where a tall pot would feel too much
• As a centrepiece on an outdoor table or entertaining area
• Planted with a single spreading species, like a low native grass or trailing succulent, to let the width of the pot do the talking
• Paired with the standard Sala Planter in a mixed display, using the size contrast for visual interest

The wide, low shape also works well alongside other elements in the garden, built-in seating, raised beds, or paved courtyards, rather than standing alone as a feature.

As with every piece in the Old Stone Range, expect small variations in texture and tone from one planter to the next. That’s the nature of handmade, not a flaw.
